2025 Reflections

2025 was a big year of learning, frustration, and constant adjustments. After surrendering much of my life and personality to becoming a new parent in 2023, this year was the year I tried to find a piece of myself again. There were so many days I got stuck in the daily grind—the never-ending life admin tasks, frequent appointments, mental load of a default parent—I forgot to be grateful for the small things that I did for myself, and the ways I tried to better myself for my family. Shout out to my life partner who really helped support my goals and pick up the slack when I was out finding a part of me.

Lessons from 2025:

  • Soak in the small wins. Enjoy the cup of coffee out and walks around the neighborhood

  • Carve out intentional time for things I want to accomplish

  • Take a deep breath when needed

  • Small progress is still progress

  • Make time to explore

  • Communicate and remember not everyone has the same thinking process

Big successes:

  • Toddler is still alive

  • Added a fur friend to our family

  • Ran my first ever half marathon

  • Spent time outdoors
