Sneaker Files

A collection of old sneakers I was looking to revitalize, and explore the art of a custom sneaker.

History: I had a fondness for basketball sneakers growing up. I never knew the names of the shoe models. I just liked what some of my favorite players—like Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, or Allen Iverson—were rockin’. This fondness never amounted to anything, and I was far from what some people call a “sneakerhead”, but the admiration for shoe design, and adding my own flair never quite left me. In college I dabbled with customizing Vans and the occasional Nike Dunks. Fast-forward to the present, and I wanted to be more intentional about the correct process in customizing, and I had an abundance of old shoes to try it out with (thanks to my husband).
